Practical Writing-Notes of Apology
Monday, March 15
Dear Professor Martin,
I enjoy your class very much. But I'm very sorry that I had to miss your class last Thursday. Unfortunately my roommate became ill and I had to take him to the hospital. Please let me know what I can do to make up the class. I know you prefer for us to let you know in advance when we will be absent, but there was no time to do so.
I hope you'll accept my sincere apology.
Your student,

Dear John :
John Please allow me to apologize for what I said on last Friday’s meeting. My behavior was extremely inappropriate, immature, and lacked the respect you and your team deserved. It was embarrassing, but I learned that nobody appreciated my poor behavior. In the future, I have every intention of curbing my thoughtless actions and learn to adjust my behavior befitting the environment and situation.
Again, I am sorry for my actions and I hope that we can put this matter behind us. I look forward to working with you soon. If you have any thoughts in this, please feel free to share. You may contact me at your convenience at email or phone.
Sincerely,
xxx
Dear David:
I am afraid that you will think me unpardonably negligent in not having answered your letter dated 7, December sooner, but when I have told you the reason, I trust you will be convinced that the neglect was excusable. When your letter arrived, I was just in Hong Kong. As my family could not forward it to me during my absence, it has been, therefore, lying on my desk until the moment when I took it up. Now the first thing I have to hasten to do is to write to you these few lines to express my deep regret.
I enjoyed many pleasant sights during my trip. I shall be pleased to give you an account to of them when I see you next.
Sincerely yours,
xxx
